GROWERS TO LOCK IN NEW WATER

Queensland's most exciting water project in decades is about to start its next stage on becoming a reality.

The Lockyer Valley and Somerset Water Security Scheme will launch its next round of grower engagement to confirm its foundation customers.

Now is the opportunity to become a customer of Australia’s largest and most reliable recycled water irrigation scheme which will deliver:

  •  A 50 per cent increase in irrigation water to the region or 22,000ML annually
  • Direct connection into the Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme and the most reliable irrigation water in the nation
  • A new purpose-built trunk pipeline and spur lines to deliver the water to the farm gate
  • Opportunity to increase the region’s fresh produce production by up to $270M a year

The Lockyer Valley and Somerset Water Security Scheme will deliver its final report in June this year for capital investment consideration by the Queensland and Commonwealth governments and is aiming for construction start by 2028.

The project will host public forums in the Lockyer Valley and Somerset to kickstart the process of securing its foundation customers.

Don’t miss the opportunity to lock in your water future.
